What does an evaluation entail?
- Initial interview to get background information and understand the reason for testing
- Review of records, either medical, academic, or psychiatric
- Standardized testing designed to measure different areas of ones functioning such as intelligence, academic achievement, attention, memory, and emotional functioning
- School observation if needed
- A test battery can be tailored to the needs of each individual
- Testing is scored, and the report is written
- Feedback session to review the report
- Diagnosis is discussed, and a list of recommendations provided necessary to improve one’s functioning.
